Missing Daddy

Here's a picture of my gorgeous Dad with his glamorous mother at his High School graduation. I've been thinking of him nonstop today, and missing him so much it aches. He was such a tremendous person and it was a joy to be his daughter. It's hard to imagine my life without him in it, and doing just that is proving to be as hard as I expected it to be. I don't know really how to get past this daily grief; but quite frankly I don't really want to just yet. I'm letting myself feel honest emotions and go through the process of grieving. He is sorely missed, and his absence has left a hole in my life. I would rather have had my darling father for as long as I did than some other Dad for 30 more years. He was so precious, and simply cannot be replaced.

More Mother's Day

This was the last photo we took, because I was laughing so hard we all tumbled into a heap on the front lawn! These guys really know how to push my buttons!

Let's see if this works!

Here we are on Mother's Day in our front yard. I was trying to corral the kiddos for photos, and at this point the situation had really started to deteriorate, but the boys were cracking me up with their antics trying to get away from me!

My, how time flies

Well, if you can believe it, Connor is turning 5 on Friday. It seems just yesterday that I was bringing him home from the hospital, and now here we are in Preschool! Wow. I must say that being his mom has been a fun experience for me. He really taught me what love is all about.

Yesterday, we were playing and he was bossing Cooper around. I told him to stop, that he's not Coop's boss. He says "But, Mom! I AM Cooper's boss! I'm da big brother!" I explained that he doesn't get to be the boss until he's a daddy; big brothers don't get to be the boss. He asks "well, den, who am I da boss of? NOBODY?! I need to be de boss to somebody!"

I love it. Don't we all feel that way? Everybody wants someone to boss around. Well, maybe one day he'll have the joy of being "da boss!" of his own son. That day will come all to soon, I fear. His childhood is sailing past. He's a precious boy. Happy Birthday, Connor!
